Selma
5. July 2025 – Publisert i Concerts, Selma
Selma is a Norwegian indie pop band inspired by the 90s twee from The Field Mice to Belle and Sebastian. Their music is acoustic pop with a melancholic expression and ramshackle elegance. Selma was founded at Seljord Folkehøgskule in 2016, named after the sea serpent in Seljordsvannet.
After many years of DIY releases, the more polished EP Etterpåklok came out in 2023, mixed and mastered by indie pop legend Derek Almstead. The album was described in Dagsavisen as “nice and sunny, and just what you need when laziness kicks in on the sunny wall.” After a performance at Indiefjord in 2019, the band fell in love with the environment and the festival where they later did several pop-up performances, and they have held concerts together with returnees such as Darren Hanlon, Gary Olson and Stanley Brinks & Freschard when they have toured Norway.
